GCTA Men's Leagues
The GCTA is pleased to offer Men’s Leagues during the summer months to players in the Greater Columbus area. Teams form in the months of April and May and then begin playing matches in June. Most of our leagues feature playoffs which occur in the month of August to determine the league winners.
We offer leagues based on skill levels and leagues based on age.
Skill based leagues are based on the USTA’s NTRP rating system. All players playing in a GCTA skill-based league must have a current NTRP rating and must play at or above their NTRP rating. If you have played in USTA matches, you have an NTRP rating. Or, your club pro can help you understand where your skills place you. Then, you will complete a USTA self-rate through the USTA league website. The GCTA offers leagues in the following levels:
- 3.0 (plays 3 courts of doubles on weekends)
- 3.5 (plays 5 courts of doubles on weekends)
- 3.5 Plus (plays 3 courts of doubles on weekends, can have at most two 4.0 players playing in each match)
- 4.0 (plays 5 courts of doubles on weekends)
- 4.5 Plus (plays 4 courts of doubles on weekends, can have at most two players rated above 4.5 playing in each match)
- Gold (45 years and older – 4 courts of doubles on weeknights)
- Silver (55 years and older – 3 courts of doubles on Tuesday evenings)
- Platinum (62 years and older – 4 courts of doubles on Thursday evenings)
- Diamond (70 years and older – 4 courts of doubles on Mondays)
During the season, we track our league play on the GCTA Men’s Tenniscores site.
